Hoosier to Hoosier was established was to deal with a serious campus waste issue. At the end of the semester, in early May, thousands of students prepare to leave campus. Most students are busy studying for finals and saying good-bye to their friends. Moving out of their dorm, apartment, or house is just another thing on their already full to-do list. In the past H2H has been there for these students who needed help getting rid of their stuff.
After three successful sales, H2H is now an established staple on the Indiana Univeristy campus. This year, H2H wants to challenge students to think about their waste year round. Start thinking now about what you are going to do with the stuff you can't take home over the summer. Here are some ideas:
- Give it to a friend
- Store it over the summer
- Find another use for it
- FInd an interesting upcycling project
- Donate your stuff to a thrift store
- After you have exhausted these possibilities, and you you still can't find a home for your stuff, donate it to Hoosier to Hoosier! Whatever you do DON'T let your reusable items make the trip to Sycamore Ridge Landfill.
The Trip Your Trash Makes
Watch members of the H2H team take a trip to Sycamore Ridge Landfill to learn more about where their waste goes.
